Mitt's favorite bible verse. Maddening.

<snip>

Asked for his favorite Biblical passage, Mr Romney offered a line from Matthew 25 that is more frequently cited by Christians on the political Left. "For I was hungry, and ye gave me food: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: Naked, and ye clothed me," it reads.

follow up with, "So why does, per the Council of Catholic Bishops, your budget do the exact opposite?"

The romney version of that passage would read more like:

"For I was hungry, and ye charged me for the scraps I pulled out your dumpster: I was thirsty, and ye charged me for the wastewater flowing through your gutter: I was a stranger, and ye asked me for my papers: Naked, and ye jailed me, But in all things, ye told me to get a job."

"...Furthermore, I'm going to decrease welfare and end the social security program as we know it!" - Paraphrasing Rmoney

Is this a joke? Was that really his favorite scripture? Rmoney's lack of respect for us is becoming more apparent everyday. He really thinks we (anyone in the 99.9%) are all idiots!

You wouldn't know the principles of Jesus if they rose up and bit you on your entitled ass.

in front of teevee cameras, I would have to reconsider my long-held atheist convictions. I don't anticipate having to do so, but it would be fun.

alms or charity and they like quoting this passage because it justifies their beliefs that government socialism is just anti-Christian and the work of the devil. However, if that ideology worked, it seems in two thousand years of Christianity, we should have been able to wipe out poverty and homelessness throughout the world.
