The Danger of a Third Party Candidate is Not Just the Votes He May Take, But the False Equivalency

The risk of a credible third party candidate is not just the votes he or she may siphon from the anti-Trump side of the political ledger, but the dangerous argument made of a false equivalency.

The "system is broken". "We have a polarized system in which both sides talk past each other". "The American people are sick in tired of the name calling from both sides". All these statements are bullshit. They create an advantage for a traitor like Trump. Only one side is treasonous. Only one side enables a tin pot dictator, of no experience or governmental knowledge to steer this country into disaster.

Look, I understand a third party candidate. In 1992, GW Bush and Bill Clinton both favored open trade and NAFTA. Ross Perot did not. That was the biggest issue of the day. Say what you will about the Bushes and the Clintons, they were all institutionalists and one group was center right, the other was center left. No matter which candidate won that election, the country was not in danger of ceasing to exist.

However, there is no comparison for Donald Trump. He is a Russian asset, a traitor and the most dangerous man to ever serve in the Presidency. We can argue about issues all we want after January 20, 2021. But, in the mean time, every American who loves this country should have only one political focus, and that's to oust this maniac in the White House and throw out all his enablers with him.

This election is not about philosophy. It's about math. Somebody other than Trump has to get a majority of electoral votes on November 6, 2020 or there may not be a country left to argue about.

All he has is his wealth. Let him build up a structure and spend some of his money on advertising before you give him a platform.

I cannot trust ANYONE who says "both parties are the same" or who smears Democrats with LIES like "Democrats are the party of the elite" or that the "Democratic party is the party of the one percent". Anyone who says things like that only benefits RUSSIA!

5. So maybe we should encourage a third-party even more extreme than the maniac and his {R) supporters

I'm thinking David Duke or Charles Manson (if he's still kicking.)

Let's siphon off some of the worst of the magats that support the RW/tea-party/KKK agenda. Trumputin is just too centrist....

6. that's what I thought while watching Steve Schmidt defend Schultz on TV yesterday

Schmidt was so all in for Dems in the midterms but now he's doing the "system is broken" BS Pisses me off because he didn't seem to see the problem. When you trash "both sides" you make it look like a GW Bush Clinton election, you you so accurately point out.

I feel betrayed by Schmidt.

(I am happy to report that Nicole Wallace gave Schmidt a bunch of shit for it yesterday on her show so she's still on my "trust but verify" list. Steve Schmidt is off unless he turns on Schmidt toot sweet.)

7. I fear Russian hackers can siphon votes from Schultz and add to the orange maggot

I think they did that with Jill Stein. Gave her votes that were meant for Hillary. You can change files that way. I remember Bev Harris showing how they can change votes over to a third party. For two years Russians have probably been working on perfecting their techniques by finding vulnerabilities in our voting system since there has been no money for cyber sewcurity from the repukes the last two years.

...Democrats and other Americans who want to save this government just shouldn't vote for them (or Trump), especially in 2020.
