We're a bit tardy, but I think we have finally found this year's dog days of August story: Todd Akin
2010 you had the "Ground Zero Mosque" crap, in 2008 the bored news media endlessly tried to create dissension between Obama and Hillary in August, in 2004 it was the Swift Boat liars, in 2001 it was shark attacks.
For almost 3 weeks we didn't seem to have a candidate for the annual dog days of August story and now I think we have it. But staying in the Senate race, Todd Akin has given the media weeks of more bones to chew on.
