Maybe instead of just attacking "drug smugglers" at the border, look at what purpose they serve

Border Patrol is hosting a news conference at 11 a.m. to talk about the largest fentanyl seizure in CBP history.

CBP will highlight their efforts to secure the border and prevent dangerous narcotics from entering the country.

KOLD News 13′s Kevin Adger will be at the news conference, which is at the the Port of Nogales.

Fentanyl is a pharmaceutical drug used to manage chronic pain. It is part of a group of drugs known as opioids and can elicit feelings of relaxation, pleasure and contentment. Fentanyl is 80 to 100 times stronger than morphine, making it dangerous if abused.

I live paycheck to paycheck and when Trump supporters were saying "The economy is GREAT, look at the Dow with it's all-time high", I was going to bed hungry some nights. And money is still a critical concern, a major source of stress. I've got a relative with a rare disease and I worry about his future when it comes to the "world's greatest healthcare system" when he gets older. And I remember when I had my wisdom teeth taken out many years ago and I was given percocet, and I just felt so good, at peace, nothing bothered me.

Maybe that's what people want... to not be bothered for a while. If there was a pill that created feelings of relaxation, pleasure, and contentment and it didn't have any of the negative consequences, I would totally take it.

With our casino/gig economy, maybe we do have a national emergency; a shortage of relaxation, pleasure, and contentment?

That cr@p made it so I didn't want to think or read or whatever...and made nauseated.

I don't why people would want to feel like that.

I threw away those things, took some tylenol and toughed the soreness.

where they have little or no control over their lives will seek altered states of consciousness to find relief from the pain of reality. Sadly, many of the substances used these days are very dangerous by design. Let that sink in.

The last time I was in a setting where I had to deal with the medical professional folks regarding pain, they sometimes charged me to tell me about how this drug they were prescribing could cause addiction while also instructing me to take it for at least a month before expecting noticeable results. And that stopping the meds after that point could be harmful. I took one half dose and found that I had the attention span of a gnat, all I could think of to eat were buttered toast or popcorn, and I was in grad school. I never took any more of that crap and found another doctor.
