That's the future wife of a guy named Semyon Kukes, a well-off Russian emigre, someone who, as part of a Russian "Soft-Power Network," exerts leverage on expatriates living abroad, and sometimes made use of them in sensitive projects for reasons of “plausible deniability."

Okay that's a little weird. So who is Semyon Kukes? Well here he is with Rudy Giuliani.


Semyon or Simon, coincidentally donated $273,000 to Trump Victory fundraising two weeks after Don Jr.'s Trump Tower meeting. How did he do that with his ties to Russia? Wwwwwwwwwwwell, Kukes was born in Moscow in 1946. He left the USSR in 1977, while in his twenties. Kukes lived in Texas, Oklahoma and Illinois, became a US citizen in 1982, which allows him to make political donations, and worked for Phillips Petroleum and Amoco. That's a lot of money! He must have done very well for those two fossil fuel companies to part with that much money as a campaign donation.

Mueller is reportedly looking at Americans with deep ties to Moscow who gave money to Republican political causes. They include Kukes, Len Blavatnik, and Andrew Intrater. Collectively they contributed nearly $2m to political funds supportive of Trump.



Vice President-elect Mike Pence said Sunday that there was absolutely no contact between the Trump team and Russian officials during the campaign -- and that one adviser’s call (5 calls that day) with the Russian ambassador the same day sanctions were announced last month was “strictly coincidental.”

As the head of Trump’s transition team, Pence was in charge of vetting all of Trump’s appointees, including Flynn, who was given one of the most important jobs in the cabinet and access to our nation’s most classified documents.
