Federal investigators probing Roger Stone “have seized multiple hard drives containing years of communication records from cellphones and email accounts,” NBC News reports.

“Robert Mueller’s prosecutors, in a new court filing, described the evidence as ‘voluminous and complex’ in asking a judge to delay his trial to give them more time to sift through the seized devices.”

1. Including his i-Cloud documents. That may turn out to be especially significant because

WhatsApp makes back-ups to the cloud, unless you disable the back-up action.

Stone is known to have used WhatsApp. Manafort, his longtime associate, also used WhatsApp -- and Manafort failed to disable his phone's link to the cloud, thereby defeating its security features.

It will be easier for Mueller if Stone made the same error.

Stone impresses me as the kind of guy who always thinks he's the smartest guy in the room. He's faster than everyone else, smarter, better connected, richer, or whatever other quality he needs in a given situation. I would not be surprised to find out that he thinks he knows more about criminal procedure than federal prosecutors, and that he thinks he can get all the evidence against him excluded from the proceedings. I would just smile and say to him, "Good luck."

In the alternative, he also impresses me as a narcissist who needs to prove to everyone else just what a big deal he is. He may have kept all that incriminating evidence in a twisted effort to show off just what a super criminal he is, the baddest of all the bad boys.

… Mueller is almost done and is writing his final report?

… Stone knew he was targeted and never deleted all this stuff?

… Stone had just decided to delete all this stuff, prompting his arrest and the raid?

… What prompted Mueller and Stone to react at this specific time?

WASHINGTON — Federal investigators probing Roger Stone, the former Trump campaign official indicted last week in the Russia probe, have seized multiple hard drives containing years of communication records from cellphones and email accounts, the special counsel's office said Thursday.

Robert Mueller's prosecutors, in a new court filing, described the evidence as "voluminous and complex" in asking a judge to delay his trial to give them more time to sift through the seized devices.

The court papers said investigators grabbed hard drives containing several terabytes of information, including "FBI case reports, search warrant applications and results (e.g., Apple iCloud accounts and email accounts), bank and financial records, and the contents of numerous physical devices (e.g., cellular phones, computers, and hard drives)."

The FBI is doing what it calls a "filter review" of the devices, setting aside any evidence that cannot be admissible in court because it is considered privileged.

Goddard traffic. Since I can't afford the membership traffic is the least I can do. He has an excellent site that really cuts through to what is salient in the day's news.

hopefully stone's got limbaugh/trump stuff, with limbaugh maybe getting laundered money

within the GOP limbaugh is supposed to be beyond being bought - or they could never have a real primary

but he's been worth trillions in global warming denial, deregulation, tax breaks, war, elections, SCOTUS, etc and might have been wanting a fair wage for his services.

so could trump buy him? he wouldn't have enough money, but putin would.

evidence of that would destroy the base and make it a lot easier for GOP senators to desert trump
