Is there anyone else who believes that's even a remote possibility? How could all of this illegal activity have gone on around Trump without his direct involvement, especially someone of his character?

A lot will depend on if Mueller has managed to get Trump's mob money laundering crimes nailed down. If he can show the #TrumpCrimeFamily was conspiring with Putin and/or his mob oligarchs, game over.

I do think Trump is directly involved in those deals so imo, if Mueller can trace the $$ trail then he'll bring Trump down too
