"SNIP....
Beto ORourke told Oprah Winfrey that he is thinking about running for president. When Oprah said he was leaning toward running, ORourke didnt correct her.
....SNIP"
I really hope he runs. He'll up all the Dem candidates game where communication and the big picture are concerned.

Don't know what he was thinking with that streaming hygiene moment.
But hey, the more the merrier and if Beto can ramp up the excitement quotient then that's a plus.
But yeah, ditch the teeth cleaning

(5,811 posts)He's a white male in his thirties, smart, well educated, tall, lean, wealthy, happily married with two children. I'm an African American woman and this is my candidate. He's like the ultimate people and money magnet.
Right now Trump is the white male narrative. I want to frame, control and own the white male narrative because that's what it's gonna take to win.
I love all the DEM candidates (except the disruptor from Hawaii) but they're identity or niche candidates and we can't form a large enough coalition to win with any of them. This is my opinion. I'm committed to voting for whoever the DEM nominee is but this is what I think we need to do.

(118,809 posts)the dyslexics republicans always run as President. He'll push up the game of everyone in the Democratic nomination race. I'll be happy with most of the Democratic candidates who are running for the nomination. Except of course the cultist from Hawaii.. I think most of them could outmatch Trump. I don't agree they each don't have strong coalitions. I think you are wrong there.

(14,565 posts)Ousting an incumbent is a monumental undertaking. There is far too much complacency and confidence now.
We need someone who is not easily rejected by regional stereotype or ingrained fear. There are many candidates I'd love to plug into office, but the trick is getting there. Beto is easily our best combination of traits to get there.

(5,811 posts)I love him. However, he's not the one. He doesn't meet all the criteria I've listed.
Stop thinking with your heart and start thinking with your head. This will be about brand and not policy.
