Really impressed with Mayor Pete Buttigieg- potential Dem Pres candidate

Interesting background, sound policies.

36 years old. Graduate of Harvard University, a Rhodes Scholar, and a veteran of the War in Afghanistan. Openly gay and married since June 2018.

Long shot for sure — but it’s so refreshing to see and hear these bold young Democrats start to make their voices known on a national stage.

As far as a Presidential bid goes, I'm not convinced that Mayor of South Bend is enough experience or adequate evidence of ability to run against a Republican.

there on the national stage and get better known. I want to hear him in the debates and read his policy points. I want him in the mix for a good long time.

he pointed out in that administrative role he was responsible for budgets, building infrastructure, dealing with racial tensions, etc. When questioned on his inexperience in foreign relations he replied that his Afghanistan service gave him a unique look at that. The few times I saw him he impressed me but I agree South Bend mayor is not the strongest background. I don’t see him as a front runner.

He might be great, but I think he needs some seasoning.

There's another former mayor who I think could be a good option for VP, and that's Mitch Landrieu.

Buttigieg, like Garcetti, definitely has a future in high office, though maybe not the presidency.
