I get it that he's in a very Red state, but this was a bit over the tip.

This guy can go fuck himself. And I wish looks could literally kill, because AOC is clearly on her finishing move with that look.

(82,383 posts)When it goes to a Repub? What state can we replace that number with? I don't care how the WV voters feel about abortion if the Turtle is no longer Senate leader. Unless Roberts does the right thing, then they already have the Supreme Court, so it doesn't matter? A Democratic majority would avoid another seat going to someone who will vote to overturn Roe v. Wade. So you are willing to have that happen, because it is more important to get rid of this conservative Democrat from a red state? Sometimes I don't understand people.

(4,921 posts)It's not like we have the majority.

(82,383 posts)and the map is favorable to us. If we have the Senate, no more right wing justices.
Plus do you have something proving he votes with Rs more? I had seen before that he voted with Ds mostly. Only if we can afford his seat going to an R, who votes with Dotard 100% of the time and will vote for SCOTUS justices that will vote to overturn Roe v. Wade. Roberts might still follow the law. But if they get another one they win. Punish Manchin only if it does not hurt us. Or find another way to punish him.
It is up to WV voters anyway. I'm surprised they have a D Senator at all. I drove through there a year or two ago, and the billboards and the churches were everywhere. Three white crosses along the interstate frequently. You could tell when you crossed the border. It became instantly different from the neighboring state. Poorer looking and Gawd everywhere.

(16,397 posts)By that Im sure you mean people with facts and firsthand knowledge of what red states are like politically for Dems. Reality stuff. You know, not everyone lives in Vermont.

(34,172 posts)But on the other hand, Joe will be able to use this photo in a campaign ad and help us keep a seat in the Senate.
Either we need to keep winning seats elsewhere and make Joe unneeded or we need to find a vote-whisperer who can speak to 51% of the voting population of WV.

(82,383 posts)the Senate majority leader has so much power - able to stop things from being voted on, as we have seen. It is worth keeping Manchin (as there is not way WV will vote for a Bernie type) to add up to a majority.

But he's a REAL DEMOCRAT!!!11!!1!!1 so it's OK!

(82,383 posts)That late term abortions involve non-viable fetuses?
Mariana
(14,858 posts)They believe, or pretend to believe not only that women routinely decide to have abortions in the third trimester because they just didn't bother to do it sooner, but also that doctors routinely perform medically unnecessary, elective abortions in the third trimester. In fact, such abortions are illegal in most states, and even where it isn't illegal, it just doesn't happen. It is as you said.
I don't know how to go about educating people about the reality, when so many of the preachers, politicians, TV/radio personalities and writers are spreading the lies.
