Here's What Bothers Me About Whitaker.....

He says he's been briefed or read in on the Mueller investigation/probe. In his grilling today on the Hill he said he wasn't going to talk about conversations with the president and he didn't talk about the Mueller investigation with the president.

Now I understand that Nadler was unhappy with Whitaker's answers and might again call him in front of the committee. Whitaker again can say he didn't talk with the president about the Mueller investigation - and maybe - just maybe - he didn't talk with Trump about the investigation. YET.

Here's what bothers me. Soon Barr will be confirmed as the new and permanent AG. It is very likely that Whitaker will be out of sight and out of mind as the focus will now come to Barr.

What's preventing Whitaker (who has been briefed on the Mueller investigation) from talking with Trump now that his stint as 'Acting AG' is over? It's very likely that Whitaker will not be called in front of Nadler's committee again - after Barr assumes the AG role - and with that in mind - couldn't Whitaker now tell Trump everything he learned about the Mueller investigation while he was acting?

With a wink and a nod, he could have dropped a hint to tRump (or one of his minions), that they should get together and talk about “things” after his AAG gig is over.

A U.S. Attorney from the district of Devin Nunes was also present when Whitaker was briefed on the Mueller investigation, as the reported guest of Whitaker. Last name Scott, I think.

Speculation is that it is Scott who carried the information to Trump. Those discussing this are hoping that Scott is called to testiy
