Susan Collins Intentionally Misled the Public about Kavanaugh: She Must be Held Accountable

Susan Collins Intentionally Misled the Public about Kavanaugh: She Must be Held Accountable for Kavanaugh’s War on Roe

WASHINGTON - Throughout Brett Kavanaugh’s nomination process, Senator Susan Collins intentionally misled the public by saying that Kavanaugh did not pose a threat to Roe v. Wade’s protections for women and families. Yet, Kavanaugh’s dissent, in one of his first abortion cases, the recent June Medical Services v. Gee makes clear his intent to wage war on Roe.

It only took Kavanaugh four months into his lifetime appointment on the bench to prove that Susan Collins’ insistence that he would respect precedent was a complete lie. And now, she must own that, and answer to the millions of people in this country (and the vast majority who support Roe) who thought they could count on her to keep her word on her commitment to preserving Roe.

Collins’ misinformation campaign continued as recently as two months ago when she said that she felt “vindicated” when Kavanaugh voted against having the Supreme Court hear a case involving Planned Parenthood, despite the fact that the case did not actually address access to abortion care.

My philosophy is never trust a republican. They will **** you over every time and always do the wrong thing!

we should pack the Supreme Court to nullify the repugs dirty tactics to put two right-wing Justices on the bench. They must not be allowed to roll back women's reproductive rights and our other basic rights.

Be careful wishing for HUGE steps in the battle that can also be used by the opposition.
Thats what many GOP Senators are trying to get trump to understand about declaring a national emergency to build a stupid wall.

to the theft of Obama's nomination of Garland, and the ramming through of the utterly partisan and completely unfit Kavanaugh? Do we just roll over and accept McTurtles victory and the roll back of rights that go with it? Exactly how many punches do we have to take before we can justify punching back?

Harry Reid took away the 60 vote requirement and the GOP used it to their advantage.
It seems as though each party acts like when they achieve power they'll have to forever & never think about the OTHER side using their tactics.

Was a pretty bad result. We just need to keep control of the White House and get control of the Senate...permanently..or until the gop washes and rinses for the next couple decades.

They were all given the word by McConnell...vote to confirm, or else. You will lose your committee assignments, you will be ostracized, you may have to leave the Senate since you won't be able to represent your state effectively. Like what they did to Franken.

allow the Senate to advise and consent on Merrick Garland.

When we take power again, we need to revisit that, unseat Kavanaugh and do the Merrick Garland advise and consent, as McConnell should have done.

And, we could put a TV in McConnell's cell (temporarily) so he could watch.
