On Facebook right now, there is a thread on a white supremacist group called Pissed Off White Americans that offers itself as a forum for the grievances of paranoid racists who uphold the conspiracy doctrine of “white genocide,” that is, the perception that a combination of mass immigration and supposed governmental policies that favor minorities over whites are leading to the “extinction” of “white society.” The thread refers to a recent misogynistic slur of Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, one calling her a “bimbo” with the gathered racists, naturally, wanting to pile on with their racist and misogynistic comments.

it's almost as easy as Facebook reporting, except an American FBI employee will review it instead of one of Facebook's contractors overseas who speak English as second or third language.

I hope all our vocal politicians have helpers that monitor social media for violent threats so they can be promptly reported. I'm sure a complaint from a Congressional office carries a bit more weight than those from citizens.

That Texas city councilman needs a firm reminder from the council and his constituents that social media words do matter.....
