(9,535 posts)It got bumped and jostled but fortunately had only a couple of minor scratches.
People have been gored to death when not in a vehicle and a bison charges.

(12,631 posts)were getting up close to a bison family, maybe 5 or 6 feet. I called out from my car, begging them to back up. They ignored me, and I drove away. When I came back an hour later, there were four ambulances pulling away from that spot. They were all hurt, some seriously.

(10,801 posts)Reminds me of that Florida Panther encounter by a woman on a boardwalk trail a couple of years ago in Naples.

(5,586 posts)No amount of washing would have helped.
And the shoes as well. That must have been pretty intense. The fact she was able to record it and not loose it was amazing.

(21,744 posts)the road right in front of me. I guess the "leader" turned to look at us. The size of him was what shocked me most. His head was a good two feet above the hood and the hump was as high as the roof. Amazing animals. He stood there staring at us until the rest of the herd was safely across the road like crossing guard.

(59,587 posts)This was late August, so the rut was approaching. We rounded a corner and a few of the young males were playing, front legs off the ground as they bucked up in the air, and approaching the car pretty quickly. My wife said 'I didn't know they could do that!"
A moment later, a big bull walked a foot from my open window, bellowing. You could feel the car vibrate. Impressive creatures!

(34,111 posts)people use them to teach cutting horses to cut. They don't sour as quickly as cattle do. I have been in the ring with them but I don't cut cattle. I watched a bunch toppled over with their horses when one got mad and rammed one. They can run very fast when they want to.

(23,350 posts)I saw a few of them walking the yellow line on the road, about two feet from my car. They were trying to look as if they were ignoring me. They are very into "cool". The Fonz could take lessons.
