BREAKING: A newly revealed Mueller filing indicates that warrants used in the Russian hacker case, where Mueller indicted 12 Russians for hacking the DNC, surfaced certain evidence that is relevant to Roger Stones case.
This is MAJOR
It means that Roger Stone's indictment appears to be directly related to the hacking by the 12 Russian Intel operatives, and that when they obtained evidence in warrants of those operatives, they found evidence for the Stone case, linking them together.
My guess is that Mueller is preparing additional Stone indictments, and this may very well be a racketeering case.
ON EDIT: SEE THIS VOX ARTICLE FOR MORE INFO:
https://www.vox.com/2019/2/15/18223791/mueller-roger-stone-russian-hackers-related-case
Muellers team makes two specific points here:
Search warrants: In particular, certain evidence that is relevant to [Stones] case was derived from search warrants executed in Netyksho et al.
The same stolen documents: The special counsel adds that the alleged obstructive conduct in Stones case is about his knowledge of the dissemination of stolen documents during the 2016 presidential campaign namely, John Podestas hacked emails. The Netyksho indictment was, in part, about the hacking of those emails.
Now, perhaps the related case designation is a simple legal formality that Mueller was required to do. The DC federal district courts local rules state that cases are deemed related when theres, for instance, a common search warrant.
But there are some potential strategic reasons Mueller might be happy to have the Stone case before Judge Jackson in particular.
SNIP
ON EDIT:
Here is a related court document that was filed today, in which Mueller justifies his earlier connection of the Stone case with the Russian case.

(14,627 posts)He usually reads reports prepared by other journalists, then rehashes their stories and tries to pass it off as his own work.
Or he retweets stories by real journalists.
In my opinion, he is just short of a plagiarist.

(108,980 posts)I think he does follow the documents, and that's not plagiarism.

I think they're both dedicated amateur anti-Trumpers. I take most of what they write with a grain of salt, because it often seems to be wishful thinking. But in this case, a court filing is a court filing.
