Dump was off the rails today

I watched it.
He was so whack it was frightening. More so than usual.

So I was anxiously awaiting the television commentary and lo and behold, even MSNBC, they were basically treating this as normal.

I didn't think I could be shocked anymore.
Today proved me wrong.

We're in deep trouble.

Maybe this time he was not only off the rails but down the embankment in a heap of smoking rubble?

They have to keep their reactions professional and not speculating too much but they're definitely confirming how nutty that speech sounded.

"There are many headlines here."

They care about headlines when they need to be questioning his sanity.

She was basically a crazy bag lady who had a comfortable pension and owned her home. She was one of those people who could hold a job, and she was fiercely proud of that, but outside of work her life was always a tempest.

Eventually she became a danger to herself and her neighbors. Having grown up on a remote ranch she was skilled with knives and guns, and worse, she could say the meanest, most eviscerating words imaginable to anyone. Of all the people my wife and I invited to our wedding, she was the one I worried about most. Fortunately she was mostly well behaved, played her role as the sweet old grandma, though I later heard she said a few horrible things to other guests which they mostly laughed off.

It was a huge drama, hours and hours, when the police and paramedics had to remove her from her home. Had she been anyone else but a little old white lady it's likely the cops would have simply shot her. Strapped to the gurney she was still screaming and cussing and trying to bite people.

Most of the time my grandma was fairly benign, told some interesting stories about animals and people she had known, but it was always obvious something was a little off.

Me and my siblings were always amazed that adults treated her as if she was normal. It was like a suffocating cloud of politeness would descend and obscure the terrifying reality that grandma largely lived in her own universe.

The major media treats Trump the same way. Trump is obviously mad, his words have little more meaning than the quacking of an angry duck, yet the talking heads keep telling us what they think he's saying.
