Colin Kaepernick settles with NFL ($60-80 Million settlement being reported)

https://www.nbcnews.com/news/sports/colin-kaepernick-agrees-settle-collusion-case-against-nfl-n972186

His collusion case against the NFL was air tight, he's getting paid a massive amount for lost wages. Good for him.

That large of a settlement suggests not only was collusion obvious, but there were details that the NFL didn't want to become public. Little doubt there were racist emails between owners IMO.

and have enough to educate his children well, hopefully invest wisely, etc., that would be good use in my book. He will most probably continue his quest for a better understanding of the issues, mainly about racial issues, but I hope he doesn't use his money for that, with his fame he can bring other people to contribute to the cause. He will be one of the few NFL players to live a long life without head injuries.

Since the racist NFL owners decided to make it about them and the national anthem, instead of understanding the real issues facing our country regarding race and police violence.

But hopefully it is accurate.

I think you're right about the NFL being really concerned about what would become public if the case proceeded to court.

This is a good deal for the NFL. Hear me out.

A fairly large percentage of the NFL’s fans are racists thinly disguised as nationalists. The fans of any team who signed him would have gone apoplectic. It was just a bad business deal for an owner. Any talents he brought to the field would have backfired in the stands.

With this deal, they make the problem go away for the equivalent of 2-3 million per team. They piss away that much money all the time. Pocket change for them.

when a man has to give up his career. Conspiracy among NFL owners to keep him out. Why are these powerful owners let off without a criminal investigation!

Much more, and with a higher quality of life, than he would have had if he'd stayed playing QB for the NFL.

I expect that he will continue and even increase his activism, now that he doesn't have to worry about a paycheck. That paycheck is what makes most of us shut our mouths.

He successfully changed the national conversation and gets to take home a pile of money, all without any additional closed head injuries. I’d say that’s an enormous win for him.

Reid doesn't get to have some kind of open vendetta and to smear Jenkins as a "sellout" only to cave and take the settlement himself afterwards...

Shameful for the NFL.

Get the $$ while they can as the NFL as at present is a dying sport (because of damage to the players).

I'm sure he would like to have play or still be playing.

The stated amount is a rumor as the settlement is confidential.
