Ted Lieu retweets Justin Amash's thread on the Constitution & I agree.

Amash used to be my old rep before I moved to the Lansing area, and disagreed with just about everything he stands for, but he's right about this. For those without Twitter access, I've attached the Thread reader unrolling the entire thread.



This is another example of why Rep @JustinAmash is my favorite #GOP Member of Congress. Great thread on why the #NationalEmergencyDeclaration by @realDonaldTrump in this instance violates our Constitution.

A thread on national emergencies and our Constitution:

Congress makes laws.
The president executes laws.
The Supreme Court decides cases.

This is our constitutional system.

Congress cannot delegate legislative powers to the president by statute.
