My respect for Michael Steele is growing

He's on the Ed Show right now, basically saying that Romney has put himself in a tough spot with his (new) position on abortion exceptions for rape - which is at odds with what will be the Republican party platform. "The timing (of this Akins blowup) couldn't be worse."

I think he's learning that he can speak the truth without lightning striking him down, and it's refreshing. He still has his moments of partisan posturing, but I think he's taking the long view. That someday their party will become rational again, and he'll have a future in it.

I agree he seems awful reasonable with some good analysis lately. Maybe he'll come to his senses; after all truth has a liberal bias.

We are cooling. We are not warming. The warming you see out there, the supposed warming, and I use my finger quotation marks here, is part of the cooling process."

You cannot begin to address the concerns of the people who are already here unless and until you have made certain that no more are coming in behind them."

him as a Lt. Governor. Or had to deal with his BS when running for Senate. He has been coming across a bit saner on MSNBC but then he has always taken the view of the person writing his checks. I'll never forget him thinking people, specially black people were so stupid he could trick them into thinking he was a Democrat running for Senate. Then there was the busing in the homeless from PA to pretend they were Ehrlich/Steele supporters. Guess they couldn't find enough real supporters in MD.

I think he's more 'old school,'
tho' I don't know, offhand, how long he's been involved in politics.

and can laugh about himself, especially when he knows he's wrong and is just going through the motions. I can't say the same thing about S.E. Cupp or Ron Christie.
