Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, has vowed to launch an investigation into whether top officials at the Justice Department and the FBI plotted to carry out a bureaucratic coup to force President Donald Trump from office.
Graham made his pronouncement during a Sunday conversation with CBS Face The Nation. Hed been reacting to the bombshell 60 Minutes interview with Andrew McCabe, in which the former FBI deputy director had confirmed that Justice Department officials had discussed ousting Trump in 2017 using the 25th Amendment.
McCabe also corroborated earlier reports that said Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein had suggested wearing a wire when meeting with Trump ― an allegation that Rosenstein has vehemently denied.

(82,849 posts)But you've thrown in your lot with the self-aggrandizing fraud against career law enforcement agents and criminal prosecutors, haven't you, Senator? Your judgment is rather suspect to an outside observer.

(14,974 posts)Either the people involved in the alleged discussion had NO role to play in an invocation of the 25th Amendment, in which case it was irrelevant government fan-fiction masturbation... OR the parties involved in the alleged conversation DID have a role to play in an invocation of the 25th Amendment, in which case they were being diligent, responsible constitutional officers by continually assessing and evaluating their duties and circumstances. Either way, there is no there there.
Also, as his attempt to smear/delegitimate will fail, he's just asking for a greater microscope to be focused upon his corrupt purposes......... financial, sexual, electoral,... oh my!

(10,098 posts)Amazing how the cameras flock to him just like they did with McCain. The corporate media and them must all go to the same beltway cocktail parties. It seemed like McCain was on the Sunday morning "news" shows every weekend. Lindsey always been a sanctimonious asshole, but even for him, this is pretty pathetic.

Either hes highly impressionable, and takes on the ideas of those around him, or Putin has something on him.

(11,572 posts)How could that possibly be a coup? The Republicans are getting hysterical over a Constitutional Amendment. Seriously, what is wrong with them?
