Abortion issues and Marriage equality are issues that blatantly violate the 1st Amendment.

The only reason for either to be issues is religious. The first amendment strictly forbids a state religion. And I'm pretty sure we are not a Christian nation. The founding fathers mention a creator. They do not mention Christ in of their documents, except for the Treaty of Tripoli to say that this country was NOT founded on Christian Principles. Why in the world do I not hear this argument used on a regular basis?
What if we had some religious zealots from a different religion trying to get us to integrate their religion into the government? Those people would lose their minds.
Christianity is a religion whether they like it or not. This is a secular nation. There some great people out there, but their most vocal nut-jobs are the ones who are currently getting all the press and they're bat shit crazy, which makes them all look bad. I have a good friend, who the other day, freaked out about one of the ladies from her Lutheran church going off about homosexuality on a blog. So she started in on Gluttony and other things. Then, I found the following video, and everyone sort shut up.
If you take nothing else from this rant that was inspired from posts I've been reading today and while I've been lurking on and off. These issues are out of control and seriously, this is the best thing I've ever seen in my life. I never watched this show, but seriously, seeing people beat people over the head with their own bible, well, it makes me SQUEE!
