How can you be for "the dignity of work" and against weekend voting?

Isn't the ridiculous all out assault on weekend voting a completely transparent attempt to suppress voting among the working middle class and the working poor?

Is there something I'm missing here?

Who else could you possibly be targeting? Does an unemployed/not working person give a fuck whether it's a weekday or the weekend? No. No they do not.

Who, pretty much by observance of the laws of reality are the only people who care about the opportunity to vote on weekends instead of weekdays? Well, that would be people who work.

And yet they claim to be all about "the dignity of work." Funny, it seems like work obligations are the exact impediment Republicans are trying to throw in the way of people getting to the polling places.

Or not funny. More like incredibly fucked up.

It'll make a good talking point, I think.

And CEOs are really the only "workers" that Republicans think have dignity.

You just have to look at things with a Republican mindset and then everything makes sense.

Unless you are the lead dog the view never changes.

I'm sorry to do this and I rarely do - but I'd like to know if there's any answer I'm not seeing here.

Otherwise, I think this is a really important point (of course I do, I wrote it!).

I would love to see the polls open for a couple of days - one week day and one weekend day. Or have everyone have mail ballots as an option like in Oregon.

they actually manage to get Ruby and I agreeing on most things for a series of *months*!

Now *that* is quite an accomplishment, lol.

And yes, it absolutely should be a national holiday.

Voting in this country should be made as easy as can be. Not suppressed. I don't understand how anyone could disagree with making it easier.
