Just now got this email from Sanders:

“You are receiving this email because you signed up as part of our campaign for president in 2016. Unless you sign up to join below, we will no longer send you additional messages after today.”

No I most assuredly DID NOT sign up to be part of your campaign. Where did you get my name? I was absolutely on Hillary’s list .

Yeah, how did you get my name? Do tell.

For months I got emails from Congressional candidates I've never heard of from states I've never lived in. I unsubscribe and carry on...

Last year I started getting texts from various Democrats with someone else's name on it. Based on the name, I knew they bought a spam list, because I get spam calls for that guy all the time.

We’re in the midst of a circus of a mayoral race right now, with like 15 candidates. One of these candidates has been sending frequent text messages to both me and my husband. Thing is, we never give our cell numbers out to anyone except friends and family.

Lots of people have been complaining about this. When asked about it at a debate, the candidate said it was completely legitimate because people’s phone numbers are on the voter registration lists. Well, probably mine is, because we get a lot of calls on our old land line (a whole different story). But I sure as hell never put my cell number on any registration form. When we moved here 14 years ago and registered to vote, we didn’t even have our current cell numbers; they were from another state.

I don’t know why this bothers me so much, but it does. My cell is my last bastion of privacy, and I feel kind of violated.

The closest thing to privacy is a written letter. Even that is suspect.

Anybody born after about 1990 has never known privacy.

I’ve got my phone fixed so that it only makes noise if I get a call or a text from my contact list. Everything else goes to voicemail or whatever. It’s so much better that way.
