Yet another reason why we cannot lose this election

Now, to all those who are angry at Obama, I really do hear you. At best, he has tried to re-do Clinton era centrism, when many people like myself voted exactly against that. But truth be told, there are reasons that we simply cannot let Romney/Ryan in.

I will not go over the obvious ones; the supreme court, the gutting of medicare and SS, the likelihood of war with Iran. Those have been discussed to death, and someone who was not moved by those arguments will not be moved now. Granted, the picking of Ryan should have laid to rest any idea that Romney would be a moderate, as he has shown he will buckle to pressure from the Tea Party.

However, let me offer you a whole new angle. Yes, we all know that Obama was about as Socialist as Bill Clinton, yes we know he did not try to go hard left, but we also know those in control of the narrative will not let that truth show. Even some of the folks on Huffpo, the Lynn Rothchilds, the Jon Huntsmans, speak of him as if he demonized big business, and that supposed demonization is why he failed. If Obama fails, the MSM will scream to the rooftops that he is TOO FAR LEFT. That of course will mean that the Democratic party will not embrace the Liz Warrens; the farthest left we may get is a Hillary Clinton that will NOT go left at all, but trot out Bill to show Wall Street and the Oil companies that they are in control. After all, Bill already tried to stop Obama from attacking Bain, or the pipeline that will pour swill into the Mississippi. The left will bulldozed out.

The only hope of progressives is to force America to realize that,no the sky does not fall when there is not a GOP in the Oval Office; then, as the banks continue being themselves, we can feed them the more progressive types, as they will have nothing else to eat. The GOP will also be forced to tamp down it's image, as a MITT collapse would be a complete fiasco for them.

For over three years I wondered if Obama's 2008 campaign was a fluke, now I know differently.

Obama is the most brilliant politician of this generation and probably several generations, he knows full well how to be an attack dog to get what he wants.

I think Obama got pretty much what he wanted while he's been in office, the furthest left we are ever going to see him govern is moderate, right leaning centrism.

I'm sure my opinion will piss some people off but I'm beyond caring, I lost ground all through the Dubya residency but the life I had left when Obama took office is gone and no power on Earth can bring it back.

As much as Obama has been right leaning, if he loses, the narrative will be that he was TOO FAR TO THE LEFT. That will make sure not no one, not even Hillary, will dare go to the left.

But now if Obama wins, moderate right-leaning centrism will be seen as far leftism..

And if Obama loses, moderate right-leaning centrism will be seen as far leftism.

The Republicans moving ever further to the right and the Democrats following them in that direction has screwed up American politics for the foreseeable future.

and keep the House- let alone take the Senate. And they have a decent shot at doing all three. I'm so tired of the hapless belief that Obama will win. There's sure as fuck no guarantee of that.

What does this paragraph even mean?

"The only hope of progressives is to force America to realize that,no the sky does not fall when there is not a GOP in the Oval Office; then, as the banks continue being themselves, we can feed them the more progressive types, as they will have nothing else to eat. In the long run however, the repubs are doomed by demographics. By that time, it may be too late.

Romney/Ryan with a compliant congress damned well straight would be a disaster.

As my caffeine has kicked in:

"The only hope of progressives is to force America to realize that,no the sky does not fall when there is not a GOP in the Oval Office; then, as the banks continue being themselves, we can feed them the more progressive types, as they will have nothing else to eat. The GOP will also be forced to tamp down it's image, as a MITT collapse would be a complete fiasco for them."

One: there is a media narrative that says only GOP type can become president. When trying to combat that, we have to acknowledge that many people have been programmed to not even think of a Democrat in the Oval Office. That is what I meant by "the sky does not fall."

Two: as far as feeding them to more progressive types: Once America can elect and keep a Democratic president for two terms, then they can ponder "why not try some of that stuff the people left of Obama and Clinton are selling?" Of course, since the banks will continue being pigs, the climate may be better, as even the thick headed will realize the right wing really has no more tricks, that they could not even BUY an election. If Mitt loses, the right wing will suffer, and at the very least, need to change it's sales tactics.

Hope that helped.

We know Obama is not "too far left". However, to the right-wingers, everything looks too far left.

I think most voters believe that Obama inherited an untenable situation from George W Bush. Also, I know many people say that the President cannot continue to blame George W Bush for the problems. However, I think a lot of people do not believe one term is enough to fix the destruction that was left behind.

Yes, whichever Party loses this election will see a huge transformation. No, it is not a sure thing that Obama will win.

then most people, unfortunately, are misinformed. They have no idea what kinda hole this country was in when the economy collapsed in September, 2008. And in Jan. 2009, let's remember that we were loosing 700,000 jobs per month!!!

If we were to be frank, we would have to admit we have had 30 years of right wing domination, yes, includiing the velvet gloved, iron fisted Clinton years! We cannot transform overnight.

But a lot of people do believe that one term is not enough to fix it. Also, in January 2009, we were losing closer to 800,000 jobs per month than 700,000. In any case, a lot of jobs.

I do believe that not enough people understand the degree of destruction that was inherited in 2009. Even a lot of folks here will argue that 4 years is plenty to fix any problem left by Bush and the previous Administration. If it was just your average "recession", that would be true. But it is not.

If the Repubs, who are very limited in ideas about how to fix anything, do take control, we will be at the mercy of free will and the marketplace. Much suffering will ensue.

People read that I was saying we cannot lose this election. I meant we can not lose this election, as in, we cannot afford one percent chance that we can see RMONEY win...even if there is .00000000001 chance from Mitt to win, we need to squash that last bit!

We also need to run most of the teabaggers out of office, keep the senate and take the house back. Long shots at the moment, but a bit more Akin will help, lets see what the convention brings from out of the woodwork.

This country won't change until big business is out of politics and I don't see that happening anytime soon. What's the incentive? Most of our national politician's are millionaires and it goes against THEIR best interests to do the right thing for the "have-nots" of this nation.

I predict things will only get worse... Happy Thursday!
