You can bet your dollars that the GOPers will play that song next week and my money would be on them not paying for the rights to play it.
That is what they do!

We built this city, we built this city on rock and roll
Built this city, we built this city on rock and roll
Say you don't know me or recognize my face
Say you don't care who goes to that kind of place
Knee deep in the hoopla sinking in your fight
Too many runaways eating up the night
Marconi plays the mamba, listen to the radio, don't you remember
We built this city, we built this city on rock and roll
Chorus:
We built this city, we built this city on rock and roll
Built this city, we built this city on rock and roll
Someone always playing corporation games
Who cares they're always changing corporation names
We just want to dance here someone stole the stage
They call us irresponsible write us off the page

(2,208 posts)If they actually played it at the RNC, it would prove, once and for all, what a bunch of brainless dorks they actually are! Starship and the writers SHOULD allow them to play it, because it is a total embarrassment.

(1,510 posts)Atrocious song from an awful sequel band. Without Kaukonen and Cassidy the Airplane was grounded.

(3,167 posts)Yeah, it's a terrible song, but the image of Grace Slick going off on a bunch of Republicans warms my heart! She could do it too... she'd put them ALL in their place!

(5,354 posts)aftermath with a pithy apology (after they've been told never to play a certain song again). By then it's too late to do anything; the 'musical moment' they wanted is over. They've done this many times.
