The Violent Rhetoric Of The Right - Let's Have A Civil War?

I think that we really can see what is at stake in this election when you consider the violent rhetoric of the RW.
When you have a candidate for sheriff say that he would arrest doctors performing an abortion and even use deadly force to stop them you should really take notice. When you have an actual judge say that in essence that there should be an insurrection if Obama wins, it should be like a five alarm fire. This rhetoric is simply dangerous.

The constant din that progressives, Democrats and even the President are like the terrorists who are destroying this country should really make one wonder. The absolute viciousness and hatred in their demeanor is nuts. Now think about it and all the code words to incite hate in this country. And it has had consequences as we all can see. These people are serious about their desire to eliminate what they view as a progressive atheist secular threat to their desire for theocracy.

I am bothered by the undercurrent of gay hatred and racism that underlies every R$R event. They seem to be stoking the fires. And I am even more concerned and even angry about the bloodlust response of their audiences. I remember watching the Ken Burn's special on the Civil War. One segment talked about the "rebel yell" than no one alive knows how it sounded, but from the reports on of the Union Army at the time it was the "shriek of death" like no other. The R$R events have that quality to them. You can feel the heat of intense hatred from the audio at EVERY EVENT.

We seem to be headed into even darker times with these people. Lincoln said that "a country divided cannot stand". We are divided by hatred, racism, bigotry and religion more than ever before as far as I am concerned.

The GOP is criminally insane and determined to kill this country dead as any kind of democracy. Turning almost the entire federal government to the states will be like going back to the Articles of Confederation. We do not have to worry about the terrorists because the GOP IS A TERRORIST ORGANIZATION. They will murder this nation.

...you complain that GOP rhetoric claims that "Democrats and even the President are like the terrorists who are destroying this country."

And then you end it by saying that "the GOP IS A TERRORIST ORGANIZATION. They will murder this nation."

Hypocrisy much?

You're a hit and run poster who engages in EXACTLY the tactics that you seem to decry.
The politics of fear.
It's really quite tedious...

(and for the record, I too am "bothered by the undercurrent of gay hatred and racism that underlies every R$R event." But I'm not going to use the same tactics.)

is that terrorism?

There is definitely an argument that says it is exactly that.

On the other hand, is it "the same tactics" to call an asshole an asshole? Is it the same tactic to call some group that uses terror a terrorist group?

I don't think so. I think that's called "the ugly truth."

That's why it's hypocrisy.

Besides, this one is nothing more than an attention-seeking hit and run poster, who does nothing but rile people up. No solutions offered. Boring...

I've been saying this for a while.

OP does little besides issue hateful and divisive rhetoric while pretending to condemn the same thing. It is hypocrisy and that may well be the point of it all.

I posted a link to his interview, but my thread was locked. The judge advocated the removal of Obama should he win and he said he'll refuse to obey federal law. These people don't believe in democracy. They're racists and fascist.

But it's a point to bring up if anything - the GOP is getting absolutely disgusting with their increasingly violent rhetoric and no one is doing anything about it. Look at all the instances of "stochastic terrorism" lately - Aurora, the Sikh Temple in Wisconsin, if Obama is reelected expect things to get worse. I'm incredibly worried what's going to happen post election.

There's a significant portion of our society who have truly spent 20 years feeling like they are being attacked and they really don't know any other way to see it.

Why not a peaceful separation instead?

This country has NEVER been united and never will be.

Next Governor who beings up secession needs to be called on it. The POTUS's response should be OK hold a state wide vote and if the majority want it, so be it, you are on your own. Those that do not want to go will be relocated to another state and the expense of the state leaving. Those that want to join the state in leaving are also free to do so at their own expense.

Simple solution.

hands over any Federal property in their state (at their own expense), or pays the full value thereof, and as long as they assume their per capita share of the national debt. I think that is only fair.

Of course, under those conditions, you can imagine how the red states would be up in arms about how they're being persecuted by the marxistsocialistnazifascist Federal government.

When Obama is reelected the USA will chug along just like always. Teafucks will wave signs, OWS will bang drums, adults will hope for policies that will get them out of this hole.

Your civil war will be fought on the internet in the comments section of websites. It will be silly and unworthy of even the most inane history book.
