Based on an article on Alternet.org titled "Temp Worker Nation --- If You Do Get Hired, It Might Not Be For Long. If you end enforcement of labor laws, kill the unions and abolish our labor laws you will end up with a job market where a full time job becomes almost extinct. What R$R will do is set up an economy where most people will be contractors. Or at least they will give business the framework for such an economy. This article is in the alternet archive.

I recommend this article for workers who will see what the future of their children and grandchildren will be. I wrote a 5 part email that I called the "No Job Jobs Of The 21st Century" in 2004. I based that email on an article I read around 1981 that was describing the "end of the job". It was the corporate model about what jobs would be like in the future. The conclusion was that there were be NO full time jobs in the future. They would ALL be contracts except for owners and managers.

Read this article and weep for the future of your children. 30% of the jobs now are contract worker or temp. And that number is rising. The ONLY thing that keeps business from moving to a full blown model of the "contracted job" are our labor laws. And when R$R talk about deregulation they are talking about remanding all labor enforcement to the states and shutting down DOL.

Now I have been following labor trends for 32 years intensely. Sadly, I have seen almost ALL of my predictions come true. Even Republicans who support these assholes will get their economic throats cut. The kind of jobs R$R will create will be these kinds of jobs while the send the rest of our jobs to China or India.

I am serious. This article is just devastating. The GOP and their billionaire friends have been setting us up for 32 years.

1. Best way to get workers and middle class to give you what you want is to

knock them off their feet with a big crash, and then refuse to allow them any measure of security in their economic position afterward. Dangle a paycheck, but remind them that it can and will be taken away if they demand stuff like benefits, paid vacation, etc. And be sure to vote Republican, because otherwise the economy is too "uncertain" to hire workers.

2. Its been a temp worker nation for the last 20 years...

In the early 90's I did temp work for a few years on Wall Street after college. Every floor was full of temps. I'm 46 college educated, and at 30 decided to work for myself because I could not get a stable job.

What we are seeing now, has been going on my entire adult life, but nobody wanted to talk about it.
