Money has been so hard to come by that we had to liquidate some stock...

Oh, wait. That wasn't us.

This is us...

Money has been so hard to come buy that we bought my son's school clothes at a thrift store and sold some furniture to keep the electricity on.

Now, Lady Rmoney, tell me again...how tough have did you have it?

In a pinch, you could sell your dancing horse.

That we may have had and that our grandmothers certainly had. When company was coming or when the money ran out long before payday you "Liquidated" it by adding more water or stock if you were lucky since you most likely already used up every veggie in the fridge.
Their thrift's are more like the bank variety... their stock is always paper not stock pot...they always have another thou hiding somewhere, another dividend in a drawer, another account off shore, another company they can sell. They should try to learn more about living on the real street instead of real "estate".

I had to take classes this year to keep my license...we're so broke buying three pairs of new socks (at Ross) felt like I was splurging.

Or call off the car elevator upgrade?

Seems to me, you're just not trying hard enough.
