Overall Americans are to f-ing stupid and ignorant to elect intelligent leaders any more.
Yes it is sad but this is the result of the GOP's Southern Strategy which the first thing they did was dumb down the schools in the red states, ignorant superstitious people are easier to control and the GOP does a great job of controlling them.
Liberals and progressive need to understand that we cannot and never will fix stupid, we need to move on without them.

Especially if you reach across and talk about facts that the other side CARES about.
And liberals have their own proportions of unprincipled stupid (see: assange supporters).
