Michigan Tea Party Republican Candidate Wanted to Make His Students Cry

Kerry Bentivolio, a Milford Republican candidate for the 11th Congressional District in Michigan (Oakland and Wayne counties — the Romneys grew up in Oakland County Michigan), told his students his goal was to make them cry and he added, “You’re just a paycheck to me.”

No worries, the creepy “You’re just an object to me” teacher got a verbal reprimand but that was nothing compared to what happened nine months later.

The Detroit Free Press reports that this was hardly the beginning or the end of Mr. Bentivolio’s intimidating behavior. He threatened students by “grabbing their desks and yelling in their faces or for slamming his fists on their desks.”

1. i had some crazy teachers in middle school

...on was a vet who had a metal plate in his head and something set him off (the kids used to try and figure out how to make him have these episodes on purpose, to them it was funny to turn the radio up and make him freak out cuz his plate would vibrate) he once jammed a kid inside the podium and shoved it up against the wall... also was known to commonly throw desks and slam his fists on the kids' desks...

...another one was an angry chinese math teacher who was prone to rants...he used to get so upset he would spit as he screamed in broken english. Back when the first Tylenol poisonings happened, he once screamed he wished he could give the whole class a tylenol!

and of course we all know our geography teacher was a lush, her coffee reeked of brandy and she was usually six-sheets to the wind by 2nd period...

...

you know, I am not condoning bad teachers or bad behavior...but don;t wer all have memories for at least one or two that were 'off'...? i just can't be outraged by every crazy teacher story I hear...

3. We had a couple of teachers in HS that used to go to breaks in the faculty room and

come back smelling like a spilled bottle of whiskey.

2. I found it especially interesting that a presumably anti-union republican (aren't they all?)...

would immediately seek the shelter of the teachers union during his reprimand. And what was that bit about asking if the student's were natural blondes or not? Creepy.

Unfortunately it was back when teachers could beat students. Great job for a creepy sadist.
