Lindsey Graham accuses Democrats of 'undercutting' foreign policy with Michael Cohen 'stunt'

Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., accused House Democrats of “undercutting an important foreign policy effort” by having President Trump’s former personal attorney Michael Cohen appear before the House Oversight Committee while the president attends a second summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un in Vietnam.

“A new low for House Democrats: holding hearings with Michael Cohen while President Trump negotiates with North Korea about giving up their nuclear arsenal,” Graham said in a statement Wednesday.

“Democrats’ hatred of Trump is undercutting an important foreign policy effort and is way out of line. If Republicans had pulled such a stunt, the mainstream media would be outraged!” Graham said.

Hasn't the president steadfastly proclaimed his utter and complete innocence of any wrongdoing? Any testimony from Cohen should therefore have no effect at all on the totally-not-guilty-of-anything-at-all Donald Trump, right Senator?

Cohen's testimony must be striking some nerves. This seems to have become the talking point of the day. This tells me they think Cohen is doing better than they thought he would.

out of a paper bag.

Even if Michael Cohen was not appearing before Congress today, we all know that the outcome of Trump's summit is Trump would lose and Kim would benefit. Kim knows that he gains international recognition while giving nothing up to gain it.

Instead of disputing the testimony, they're disputing when the testimony is happening. They figured they'd poke holes into Cohen's testimony, but since they haven't, they've stooped to whining.

"So aren't you very concerned that a pathological lying crook is negotiating with a hostile foreign nation regarding something as serious as nuclear weapons?"

(his comments don't even make sense except in bizarro world anyway. Its not like the House dreamed up this hearing when they heard that Trump was heading to Vietnam.)

They knew Cohen was going to testify today....why didn't they have a problem with it before today? All this complaining about this just started today. Gee, I wonder why. They thought they were going to make a fool of Cohen....but since they can't, suddenly it's complaining about the timing of the testimony.

His party’s antics and their belittling the threat posed by al-Qaeda cost over 2800 American lives on September 11th, 2001.

Over 2800 Americans DIED because Lindsey Graham and other Republican hacks put partisan politics above the safety of America’s citizens.

they get, or they shouldn't be, anyway.

It's an indication that Graham doesn't have any faith that Trump is actually doing anything useful in Vietnam if he thinks he can fool people that another news story "undercuts" it. That means he sees it all as a pompous show, designed to make the rubes think Trump is achieving something. Cohen's testimony isn't about foreign policy; it's about Trump's personal corruption. Admittedly, part of that might be him receiving bribes from foreign governments or businessmen, but that doesn't really concern Kim.

A real leader, negotiator or president would be ignoring congressional hearings while doing his or her job abroad. I wasn't surprised Dumb and Dumber came out with this crap about their dad, but I did think Graham still had enough self-respect to not make a fool of himself this way. Oh well, I overestimated him.
