As Isaac moves further away from Tampa, rethugs will claim that it's all because of their prayers, that God is diverting the hurricane so they can have their hatefest.
No doubt, wherever it does wind up will still be punishment for gays.

(10,340 posts)This is what we normally see with these storms, they tend to follow the same pattern. The initial forecasts show it coming right up the Florida peninsula, but then each day the track pushes further and further west. There is a reason why Tampa hasn't been hit by a severe storm in a long time. There have been a few brushes - but it's been quite a long time since there was a direct hit, or anything close to a direct hit.
Honestly if i were in New Orleans, I'd be more worried about this storm.

(12,170 posts)....and in this case it will be a Cat 1 or Cat 2 storm with Tampa getting gusts that I suspect will be between 34 - 50 knots. On the other hand, everyone forgets about the water and storm surge, which is what kills the most people and causes the most damage in a tropical cyclone. This storm will dampen Tampa and probably cause much less activity at the strip clubs.

Though if we are really lucky, and the little devil on my shoulder gets his way, Trent Lott's house will be flattened again.
