Assange lawyer claims vital information in rape case

WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange’s lawyer today claimed that he had key information which would be a “big surprise” when revealed if his trial for rape went ahead in Sweden ... “Not at any point in time have consular authorities visited Mr. Assange. And I understand that to be an obligation for all citizens of Australia. Men and women of Australia, who happen to find themselves in a similar situation, have the right to consular assistance and they should not be in a position of having to request it,” he said ... http://www.thehindu.com/news/international/article3812786.ece

The Australian Government has confirmed it has had contact with Julian Assange while he has been holed up in the Ecuadorian embassy in London. Foreign Minister Bob Carr's office says consular officials have spoken with the WikiLeak's founder on eight occasions. The last conversation was less than two days ago, just before Ecuador granted him asylum. A spokesman for Senator Carr says Mr Assange was offered consular assistance, but he thanked them and declined the offer ... http://www.radioaustralia.net.au/international/2012-08-18/assange-refused-offer-of-assistance-from-australia/1001616

Go outside and get some fresh air. Step away from the computer for awhile. Think about something other than Julian Assange for half an hour.

Seriously, this can't be good for your health.

If his own government didn't reach out to help, I see no relevance to his case in Sweden.

If there is additional information they are waiting to release, then let them go to court in Sweden and release it.

Even his lawyer admitted that Assange LIED about the investigation being over.
