the extreme woman-hatred of the anti-choicers.

behind each and every single argument against choice, whether one cites a bible or some idiot, scientifically ignorant "doctor" or whatever, lies a profound hatred for women. each and every argument says that some THING, or some ONE--whether the church, the zygote, or the sperm donor, is more important than the woman. no matter how one tries to dress it up, or justify it, that hatred IS the reality.

1. I could not agree more- which makes the women who give them "cover" all the more indefensible

perplexed by it, the authoritarianism and overwhelming hatred toward women. I think there are some very deep-rooted psychological issues going on with the anti-choicers. Often I think it's used by them as an opportunity for the target of their hatred, it gets quite bizarre. And even more bizarre IMO are those women that go along with it all.

I don't think they think we qualify as human, like others they hate.

We were property. Of fathers, then of husbands.

It took 45 years after the universal declaration of human rights, and 8 years after CEDAW was implemented for the UN to officially recognize that women's rights *are* human rights.

this country for women to get the right to vote. and look at what it took, both in england and here. (I think "shoulder to shoulder" and "iron-jawed angels" should be shown on a regular basis both during women's history month (and isn't it wonderful that we have a whole month??) and during the election cycle)

4. It's not that they consider women unimportant...

...the truth is, they consider women 100% irrelevant when it comes to making their own reproductive choices. The one person in a pregnancy situation who would, you think, have standing ahead of anyone else -- and her very existence is dismissed with a wave of the hand in the name of an absolutist morality that has nothing to do with the reality of our lives.

F*** them!!!!!

I would very much like to read or hear an explanation of whatever dark madness is at work in the minds - and I use that term loosely - of these alleged humans. The fear and paranoia are obvious but there has to be something deeper than that to generate such unhinged hatred.

They have one hell of a fight on their hands.

Look at the way their Planned Parenthood gambit went.

Now this Akin clown steps up to strengthen our resolve.

Keep it coming, wingers.

It is inconceivable to me. Until recently, I really thought that the women's lib movement in the 70's had fixed everything.

Apparently I was living in a cave.

I took so much for granted.

Not anymore.

50 years later, we would still be fighting, and even harder. The woman-haters seem to be growing daily in their hatred, their ignorance and their violence.
