Winston Churchill said: "The best argument against democracy is

a five-minute conversation with the average voter.” If that was the case back then, imagine what he would say today. Mr. Jefferson (the founder!) realized how important it was to have informed voters. I wonder what HE would say today?

The founders were not small-d democrats. They were small-r republicans.

protecting their position (particularly in the south, but everywhere). Why else have a de facto House of Lords?

and not the fascist Electoral College, neither W. nor Trump would ever have happened. I still believe very strongly in democracy. We just need to make it work right.
