Is this our new norm?? (School lockdown)

I had an early afternoon today and happened to be home. My wife has been diligently working for weeks at our sons elementary school for the annual Carnival, which is tomorrow, and she was at his school setting things up when we both received a text from our daughter:

"Hey Mom and Dad...there were some gunshots heard outside the school. They've moved all of us bus riders into a classroom. We're safe but we're scared." She attached a picture of her feet up in the classroom, in an attempt to make us feel better...I know my daughter, she's just like me and she is trying to lighten the situation...

So right now, my wife and I are sitting in the parking lot of our oldest daughter's high school...waiting. Whatever happened to cause this situation isn't actively happening in our kids school but we're sick looking at each other knowing that this could have been or may still be our Parkland or Columbine.

Folks this shit is America 2019....parents scared shitless about their kids going to school.... We have to end this madness!!

of the car, just in case. He is the same age as the kids from Sandy Hook. I used to work for a school district and had to do Alice training to learn what to do in an active shooter situation. My daughter's high school also had a lockdown a couple of years ago because a student brought a gun to school. This is NOT acceptable and the fact that it is becoming normalized is sickening.
