Clear proof that we have destroyed the way nature works.

Or not.

they lost an hour of sleep every night. She just didn't think that was fair. As often as we tried to explain to her that there was only one night where you lost an hour, I don't think we ever got through to her.

we could put an extra hour of nightdark time in a day to compensate for the extra daylight time.
also, we could maybe move some of that daylight time to winter when we could really use it.

thinking sciencely is easy.

why My bedroom spins whille I am trying to sleep. I really notice it after a few too many margaritas. All this time, I thought it was the liquor. Now I know the liquor just makes me more in tune with how the Earth rotates. The only solution is to consume my adult beverages in the AM, so I will not notice the faster spinning.

My solution for daylight saving time. This fall when we are suppose to set our clocks back, we change them a 1/2 hour and then we never change them again, a simple compromise solution to a problem that never needed fixing.

From summer to winter the daylight and darkness changes over 5 hours, what the hell good does and hour clock change do anyway?

and thereby come home an hour earlier so as to better utilize the sunlight in their off-hours.

Getting all the businesses in the US to agree to shift summer hours simultaneously would be impossible, so instead, you change the numbers.

Alternatively, I recall Carter trying year-round DST but parents complained about their children waiting for school busses in the dark.

From a similar LTTE in Australia, from many years back. A poultry farmer reported that his chickens were laying fewer eggs and that the quality of eggs was lower ever since DST was instituted.
