The Scalia Law School at George Mason University is receiving a $50 million bequest from the estate of a California judge. The money will support 13 new faculty positions. (Law). Gifts to George Mason have come under scrutiny in recent years. Contributions from the Charles Koch Foundation raised concerns about academic freedom. (Washington Post)

they called it the Antonin Scalia School of Law, which produced the unfortunate acronym ASSoL. So now they call it Scalia Law School or just Scalia Law. I think the original version is more fitting.

A former associate justice of the California Court of Appeal, Allison Rouse passed away in 2008. Dorothy Rouse, an attorney who spent most of her career with the San Mateo County District Attorneys office, died this May. The two met while students at the University of San Francisco and were married for more than 50 years.
