The Netherlands’ secret services had a front-row seat as the Kremlin-linked Cozy Bear hacker group broke into the computer accounts of U.S. Democratic Party leaders in 2014 and transferred thousands of emails, according to a bombshell report by the Dutch newspaper de Volksrant and TV program Nieuwsuur early Friday. In “a space in a university office building near Red Square,” the AIVD agents penetrated the computer networks of Cozy Bear, also known as APT29, and even managed to infiltrate their security camera to capture images of the elusive Russian team that has frustrated U.S., British, and Israeli intel services for years, according to the report. The details of the operation, said to be confirmed by six U.S. and Dutch sources familiar with the material, is apparently the basis for U.S. intel services’ “high confidence” that the Russian government interfered in the 2016 U.S. presidential elections. However, the report states that post-election revelations of the Netherlands’ role by U.S. intel sources have left the Dutch services feeling “betrayed,” and reluctant to share new information, particularly with the Trump White House.

Dutch intelligence watched the DNC as it got hacked by Cozy Bear...and subsequently shared their info with the FBI:

In the Summer of 2015, Dutch intelligence services were the first to alert their American counterparts about the cyberintrusion of the Democratic National Committee by Cozy Bear, a hacking group believed to be tied to the Russian government. Intelligence hackers from Dutch AIVD (General Intelligence and Security Service) had penetrated the Cozy Bear computer servers as well as a security camera at the entrance of their working space, located in a university building adjacent to the Red Square in Moscow.

Obama did have this info before the election cycle. Our FBI and NSC were also notified by the Israeli intelligence and I believe the Germans. This is in addition to the Steele Dossier that was turned over to the FBI in the summer of 2016. Former FBI Director James Comey needs to explain this.

7. This may explain the extreme details of Manafort filings

In some court papers the Manafort team described fine details of Russian hacking, stating who hacked, at precisely what time, using precisely what hack software. How would we know those details? A surveillance video looking over the shoulder of the hacker, seeing his monitor, would be one source. Mueller filings described details of personal email of a hacker sent with powerful encryption. Can we really beat powerful encryption a hacker would use? Again, looking over the shoulder seeing the Russian words before they are sent encrypted would explain it. So my guess is that this Dutch story is accurate.
