The most ominous sign for the GOP might be the low turnout in Iowa after the Tea Partydriven enthusiasms of 2010. Roughly 123,000 of 640,000 registered Republicans in the state turned out to vote, along the lines of 2008, when dueling Democrats absorbed most of the electoral energy. . .

If I recall correctly, that's only small number above the 119,000 that turned out in 2008...

Q: If there's such widespread RW rage and hatred towards Obama, why didn't more people come out to express it?
A: Because the 'widespread dissatisfaction' is a fairly-tale constructed by the RW media.

If all the republicans are desperate to NOT vote for Mitt Romney, and the big not-Romney-of-the-week is Santorum, I'm not sure why anyone would bother to vote, either.

So, it was a lot less than 123,000. Plus, those Paul people won't vote in the GE if he's gone.

(32,082 posts)9. It actually was a record turnout for the Rs.
The previous record was 119,000 in 2008.
