(26,298 posts)Of course, there are thousands without power. Again. That area lost power in a wind/ice storm, not that long ago.

(7,968 posts)It was severe but no tornado on this side of the State. Scared the hell out of my sweet kitty though.

(34,472 posts)The first line that came through early this afternoon was really weird. My sweetie lives about 4 miles to the west & about 6 blocks to the south of me. He called up, jokingly telling me goodbye and that he loved me. I didn't know what he was talking about. He had rain, hail, thunder, lightning, and horizontal rain. I had bupkis. In fact, I looked out of my window and it was partly cloudy. Then I looked out another window and it was black to the west. I heard a few distant rumbles of thunder, but nothing much. The storms were moving north/northwest and clipped him but missed me completely. The second line that came through Lansing packed a punch, but seemed below severe criteria. They did look to be strengthening, and Shiawassee Country is to our northeast.
I think the cold front has gone through because the rain and wind have stopped and the temperature is about 15F colder than a couple of hours ago. I hope everybody is okay.
