General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsI wonder how Susan Sarandon and all of those who said Hillary would be worse and that trump
in the WH would bring the revolution feel about what happened in New Zealand?
So far we have children in cages and family separation at the border.
Xenophobes and racists feeling they now openly acting out on their hatred with their president's blessing.
White supremacist terror attacks around the world inspired by trump.
And there is so much more...
So much of the damage his presidency is causing will be irreparable...are you proud of what you did, Susan, Turner, and all the Stein supporters?
Are you proud of what you did?

(2,461 posts)Speculation is fun with friends but do you really want the whole world to know what your imagination is putting together at some point of time, and worse - going from a fantastical idea and then exploding it into a world theory?
Of course, this would be great stuff for any writer of fiction

(12,265 posts)If they could not have what they wanted immediately they wanted Trump to blow up the system. I imagine she is satisfied.
TwilightZone
(25,493 posts)They pretty much have to. Otherwise, they'd have to acknowledge that they made a horrible mistake.
A lot of them also seem to subscribe to the "burn it down" theory so they're probably OK with the direction it's heading. They wanted Trump to destroy everything so some random group of yahoos could build it back up. Of course, they could never explain how they were going to do that.

(16,646 posts)The few I know (some Stein voters included) basically take the attitude that the worse Trump makes it, the better it will be for some future liberal president to repair it in some idealistic image they have. It their minds it was a choice between bad, but democratic and so damaging the brand, or worse but damaging the GOP brand.
Magical thinking in my book.

The Republican 2020 agenda is to divide Democrats.
TwilightZone
(25,493 posts)Not sure how calling her out and the people who supported her is going to divide Democrats. I think most Dems agree that Stein's tireless "both sides" nonsense was a factor in 2016.
As for Sarandon, she was in the "burn it down" faction, which should be summarily dismissed from any rational discussion.

(92,433 posts)The Democratic New miner loss by less than 1% in those critical swing states. Jill Stein received 1% in those states.
Cornel West, Nina Turner, Comey, the MSM, foreign involvement were all contributory. It didnt take much either, 1%

So, it's possible. I would hope otherwise, but thousands of people apparently believe Jenny McCarthy is a vaccine expert, and she's even nuttier than Sarandon.

Speaking of "dangerous".
Susan Sarandon: I thought Hillary was very dangerous. If she'd won, we'd be at war

(55,445 posts)To answer my own question, if they can't spin it they just flat-out ignore it... They let their twitter go dark for 12-24 hours and when they come back they tweet about everything else except the story everybody is talking about.
Fun Fact: The night of the Paris terror attacks, Ed Snowden (who was still at the zenith of his popularity) completely vanished for eight days and when he came back he was hyping up some charity teaching poor kids in rural Africa to read...

When I spoke to her about this post she told me things got so ugly during the primaries she left. I also agree do not see almost any of the old posters. I hope this is a good harbinger for the future.

Now is not the time for a bland centrist who won't scare or offend Trump voters.
