When I was in jr high and high school the phys ed teacher would have us line up for inspection. She would check our uniforms and sneakers to see if they were clean. Then we would have to tell her if we needed a “private shower” at the end of class. She would essentially keep track of our periods. I had not thought of that in decades. I wonder when the school district realized this was none of their business.

Honestly, I am probably the least sweaty or smelly person you've ever met. I just ... don't. So I didn't worry about it. I hated the whole idea that I was supposed to shower with a bunch of other people. Which means I COMPLETELY understand why 'private showers' would be appropriate for ... anyone, really.

I don’t think today’s HS students shower after phys ed. Some of them don’t even have that class anymore. They have contract phys ed in which the parent vows that they engaged in physical activity.

Women make this decision with a great deal of thought, prayer and consultation with our loved ones and our doctors.

I am an old woman. I don’t like the f-word. I didn’t use that word until the orange asshat arrived. But on this topic, you bet your sweet ass I’ll use it.
