White Nationalist Rep. Steve King Posts Violent Meme About New Civil War

Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa), who has a long history of touting white nationalism, has taken his meme game to a violent new level.

The disgraced lawmaker ― who was unceremoniously stripped of all his House committee assignments this year for previous white nationalist rhetoric ― shared a graphic that imagined “another civil war,” this time between red and blue states.

“One side has about 8 trillion bullets, while the other side doesn’t know which bathroom to use,” states the meme, shared on one of King’s verified Facebook pages.

“Wonder who would win...” added King, apparently not noticing that his home state was depicted on the losing side.

It seems that some on the right are actively promoting violence. What is wrong with these people???

did try violence, it would be out down in a heartbeat. Red states can't afford to feed themselves, much less wage a war.

Our attitude needs to be, "Sure, Gomer. Bring it on. See where it gets you."

Mon Mar 18, 2019, 10:03 AM

"This increase in violence gave southern congressmen a distinct political advantage: Unlike their southern counterparts, northern congressmen were rarely rewarded for fighting because northern voters tended not to vote for belligerent representatives. One of Freeman’s more intriguing arguments is that the threat of violence helps explain why southern congressmen were able to protect slavery for so long. She devotes a particularly good chapter to the “gag rule,” which barred antislavery petitions from being read on the House floor, and lasted from 1836 to 1844. Anytime an antislavery congressman challenged the rule, a proslavery congressman would threaten him with violence; northern representatives were helpless, since challenging them would have meant losing their seats."

I believe we are in a similar historical period now.

to pursue a political agenda.

Good thing they're not terrorists.

"But he doesn't have a political agenda" doesn't work when it's a politician. Some day white liberals might wake up and realize they won't be spared.

They all see their white male privilege disappearing and they can't cope with it. Firing lead at people at 3,000 feet per second is their "answer" to anything they can't understand or cope with. Why adapt and coexist when you have superior firepower?

They always talk this way because they are armed and genuinely believe that only they are. They think a civil war would be easy for them to win. They have no idea how unbelievably difficult it actually would be for either side to win. For starters, there really are no red or blue states. There are purple states, with certain states possessing a little bit more of one or the other. There would be no clear lines of battle, everything would be a huge mess.

Rural areas may have advantages in food production and self-sufficiency and be more conducive to guerrilla warfare, but urban areas have huge advantages in population, manufacturing, and access to ports and imports and exports. California alone produces a huge amount of the nation's agriculture and technology, and the entire west coast could cut off the red areas from international trade. Hey, cool bunch of AR-15's you got there Missouri. Now check out theses 3,000 drones we had California-based Google and Apple build for us.

They like to talk about civil war because it makes them feel strong. But they have no idea how difficult it would really be in practice.

America is getting browner: https://www.npr.org/2016/10/12/497529936/how-the-browning-of-america-is-upending-both-political-parties

"The country is changing — it's getting browner, as population growth slows among whites. Non-whites now make up a majority of kindergartners; by the next presidential election, the Census Bureau predicts they will be a majority of all children; and by 2044, no one racial group will be a majority of the country."

I am white, but I don't have a fear of this. Unfortunately, many white people in this country look at this trend and feel threatened by it. Let's face it - if you have a history of being in the dominant group, and your group's ability to dominate is diminished, you feel threatened by the loss of status.

The Trump personality cult (Republican party) is playing on this fear.
