Is Donald Trump a very, very sick person?

Or is it just a charade? Or is it because the investigators are getting very, very close to the 40 years of criminal acts that he has escaped from?

He seems to get worse with each passing day. Does that mean he is very, very sick or very, very scared?

Does he really think he can escape justice by pretending to be crazy and unstable?

He is very, very disturbed, regardless.

He's a crazy, old, demented man. He desperately belongs in the Alzheimer's ward of a nursing home.

I think his unhinged rants are a charade, deliberately designed to draw attention and controversy. I also think he has an extreme case of narcissistic personality disorder, which is mental illness, but not the kind that will work an insanity defense.

'mental illness', IOW.

He's so far from an insanity defense it's ridiculous to even talk about it. You could not be POTUS and claim 'insanity' and get away with it.

So no ... yeah, as you suggest, this is who he is. Although a lot of it is clearly straight from the Fascist Dictators handbook, he didn't make this shit up himself. After all, he had Hitler's collected speeches on the nightstand, per Ivana.

Likely the only book he's ever read. And I'm betting it's dog-eared at this point.

He says a lot of outlandish crap. We as a society then basically tell him what we'll buy and what we won't. He stops saying things no one buys and he repeats whatever people are willing to believe, no matter how outlandish.

So he kept on and on with crap like the birther lie because the media rewarded him with a ton of airtime. He kept on and on accusing Hillary of anything and everything because his audiences loved the idea that she was a crook and the media was drooling for a scandal no matter the complete lack of evidence.

he also says a ton of crap and quickly drops it when if doesn't work. But he never really pays a price for this. We as a society just dismiss it and move on rather than saying stop, no, that's really bizarre, we shouldn't have a president who says idiotic crap like that.

Mon Mar 18, 2019, 10:14 AM

Is whether he is capable of participating in his own defense.

And obviously, he is. He is dumb as a rock, and a pathological liar, but that doesn't mean he doesn't understand what is happening or able to assist his lawyers in his defense (regardless of whether he does).

The answer to that question is yes. He may be a deranged sociopath, but he is a purposeful deranged sociopath. Those are convicted every day.

First, it gets him the attention he is always craving. Always wants to be in the middle of the spotlight.

And second, he also has learned over his lifetime how to manipulate the media. It's about the only thing he really knows how to do. He creates something that distracts the media's eye from something else.

Is it working? Not sure. Not for those of us who are paying attention. But I think even the average consumer of news is seeing the disfunction of this presidency.

Our political and media system was dysfunctional before Trump came along. People on both sides were frustrated. Some on the right are getting what they want now - judges and conservatives policies, so they don't care. Others may like that he makes a mockery of the system, like Groucho Marx crashing a party. And.just like Groucho, regular people can't ignore him when he enters the room.

The left is upset because we are the target of many.l attacks and are also not getting what we want.

It.works until the either the party is ruined or the police drag Groucho off the screen.

emotionally, mentally, violently. He is the evil that so many feared for the USA and the world. History tends to repeat itself. It can be stopped, but alas the Republican party agrees with the "White Nationalist" movement, even his POC supporters.

He is warped. He is a sociopath. He is a narcissist. But, he is probably not diagnosable as mentally ill. There is no treatment available for people like him. He is very dangerous, though.

Situations like this with, let's say "problematic" people in charge or in a position to influence our lives can stay in such positions longer than they should because rational people like to fully diagnose the problem before acting.

We want to know if he's sick before sending him to a hospital, we want to know if he's a criminal before impeaching him or indicting and trying him, etc.

We want full and complete answers. But we shouldn't. We know enough. A partial diagnosis is good enough when the answer in pretty much all cases is "just get him out of office ASAP."

So, scared? Sick? Disturbed? Senile? Alzheimer's? Getting worse?

Who cares.

... that he thinks he's getting away with it. Secondly his sense of entitlement is so great that he doesn't recognize his actions (for all these years, not just his pResidency) as being illegal. Or in his case, "it's not illegal if I can get away with it."

So I do believe this is mostly a charade for him, but other people are blindly, stupidly believing him.

He's been very consistently batty.

He's a sick person which plays out in lying and in immoral and criminal behavior. So he is not only sick, he's bad.

He doesn't care about anyone but himself and doesn't understand people who aren't just like him. He loves a dictator and hates a John McCain. He projects his own bad characteristics onto other people and thinks we all agree.

He's a very insecure person with no core self esteem, so is constantly looking for it externally, and he will never feel really good about himself for more than a moment. Then he's off trying to get more from somewhere else.

To him, life is a fight--a fight to get attention, to be recognized and approved of. That temporary jolt of dopamine when he "wins". And then it is gone and he has to do it over and over and over again.

He's a miserable person and is making everyone around him feel the same way!
