Trump calls GM's CEO in push to reopen Ohio auto plant

WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump stepped up his pressure on General Motors to reopen an Ohio manufacturing plant that recently closed and put 1,700 people out of work.

Trump’s arm-twisting came in a series of separate tweets on Saturday and Sunday. He capped his weekend rant against the GM with a tweet disclosing that he had vented his frustrations during a conversation with the company’s CEO, Mary Barra.

“I am not happy that it is closed when everything else in our Country is BOOMING,” Trump wrote. “I asked her to sell it or do something quickly. She blamed the UAW Union — I don’t care, I just want it open!”

The union is the United Automobile Workers, which represents the employees who lost their jobs in the Lordstown closure. Trump had previously told a UAW leader, David Green, to “get his act together and produce” for the Lordstown workers. Green didn’t respond to a request for comment Sunday.

All five closed plants have Antiquated out dated issues. Once the Bail out money was used up,these results were predictable.

Cerbus Capital,Goldman-Sachs made tens of millions on this nightmare. And the Workers again became the victims.

8. No doubt not keeping up with the market did not help keep the plant going,

some people like Goldman Sachs and GM used the plant as a short term cash cow,
and a % of the workers at that plant voted for Trump in 2016 too.

I want to say I have sympathy for the workers and their families who lost their jobs
but those who voted for Trump .... because down deep they thought Obama was
a n****r (even though they like their Cleveland Browns & Ohio State Buckeyes) and
Hillary was a man hating bitch with a liberal agenda .... I have zero sympathy for.

... or so after winning the election in 2008 Obama had a working group on what
was needed to save the auto industry up and going .... he, Obama, could have done
so much more if the McConnell and the GOP hadn't decided that way back into power
was to to sandbag everything that the President wanted to do.
