My niece lost her car to the flooding, could have been worse

It was parked at her office. When the evacuation order came, the car wouldn't start. The flood took it and will certainly cost here a couple weeks pay before production starts back up.

A friend lost his home with no flood insurance.

I've been through several tornadoes, earthquakes and just one flood. I remember every single detail of the flood. We were lucky - my parent's house sat just INCHES high enough to avoid water rushing in. We had two sump pumps going, full speed, to keep up with what was coming in through the sump hole. My Dad quickly installed a 'stand pipe' in the floor drain. Much of our town was not so lucky. The more fortunate just had to deal with flooded basements. Some were flooded on 2, and even 3 levels.

Smelly. You can't really save a flooded house. And then comes the mold.

Plus gas stations and fuel barrels were demolished. Nebraska's waterways are already some of the most polluted in USA.

Trump doesn't seem too interested in Nebraska. Has he said much about this yet? I guess it's not as important as tweeting about SNL.

About having to shell out $XXXX after the annual safety inspection for fixes.

At least I still have a car.
