Politician who opposes mandatory chickenpox vaccinations contracts chickenpox

A senior member of Matteo Salvini’s far-right League party who is an outspoken critic of Italy’s mandatory vaccination rules has been treated in hospital after contracting chickenpox.

Massimiliano Fedriga, president of the northeastern Fruili-Venezia Giulia region, announced he spent four days under observation in a medical facility after being diagnosed with the virus last week.

“I'm fine, I'm at home in convalescence and I thank everyone,” he wrote on social media following his discharge.

Mr Fedriga has been a vocal opponent of Italy’s decision to introduce mandatory childhood vaccinations against 12 diseases, including chickenpox

Not really newsy enough for LBN, but something I found that's ironically funny.

Fortunately they were very mild, just a little of the belting mainly on my stomach. But I was in constant pain. Ironically, or connected, when I got the Chicken Pox I only had 21 marks. Mother counted them and at 5 remember her telling me how lucky I was. My 18 month old sister? Not as lucky. Liked to killed her. I pray(not really, freethinker here) she never gets shingles. But she has had the shot so hopefully she will avoid them.

maybe he can pick up an honorable mention at this year's Darwin Awards. especially if the adult chickenpox renders him infertile.

someday mother nature is going to collect on balance due with our accounts all overdrawn and shit, and humanity is going to get evicted from the damn biosphere.

I'm on a long list. What's holding it up? My doctor didn't seem to know for sure - maybe they didn't make enough? It seems they could have made more by now.

But I'm still doing great and hope you are, too. We've come a long way since 2001 when this all began, but all in all, this present situation certainly is a setback.
