Pelosi tells Dems she'll reject highly classified briefing on Mueller findings

Speaker Nancy Pelosi told Democrats on Saturday she'll rebuff any efforts by the Justice Department to reveal details of special counsel Robert Mueller's findings in a highly classified setting — a tactic she warned could be employed to shield the report's conclusions from the public.

Two sources who participated in a conference call among House Democrats said Pelosi (D-Calif.) told lawmakers she worried the Justice Department would seek to disclose Mueller's conclusions to the so-called Gang of Eight — the top Democrats and Republicans in the House and Senate — which handles the nation’s most sensitive secrets. The substance of Gang of Eight briefings are heavily guarded.

Everyone pounded the transparency drum continuously,” said a source who was on the Saturday afternoon call.

Pelosi said it was her belief that the findings of the report should be unclassified, a consistent theme from Democrats who said they wanted Attorney General William Barr to share virtually every scrap of paper connected to the Mueller report with Congress.

That released the entire report by posting it on the Internet? Yes, a different law was in effect then and there were no national security issues involved.

So sick of this kinda bullshit. The ENTIRE HOUSE UNANIMOUSLY VOTED for the report to be released. It's not just 'Democrats'.

And then their whole 'share virtually every scrap of paper', downplaying, diminutive crap, like it's all just Democrat Silliness .. seriously, F-You Politico!

are excluded from the process of defending themselves and their Constitution?

We in America vote for our representatives to represent US, AND defend The Law, not choose one or the other, but DO BOTH.

There's no reason Americans need be excluded from the investigation we funded,
about the president and government we funded,
and the report we funded.
It's our government.
Our nation.
Not the attorney general's or the Dept of INJustice's.

Fuck this oligarchic mindset of the politics of privilege.

And let him testify about his investigation.

I believe the Special Counsel law is deeply flawed. If the investigation is not released to Congress at least, the what is the point? Leaving it entirely in the hands of the Executive Branch prevents the oversight by Congress.

This needs to be changed in the future - if we get a chance.

Never saw the light of day after that (at least for public consumption). Those senators who viewed the evidence of TORTURE by the US (Feinstein and others) were stunned and horrified in brief interviews after, but never shared any substantive information subsequent to the "classified briefing." It was kept from public eyes. It continues... Perhaps Pelosi knows this?
