Trump, GOP Leaders Take Victory Lap After House Passes 'Trumpcare'

President Donald Trump celebrated on Thursday taking the first step toward repealing and replacing Obamacare.

Trump called the measure "incredibly well crafted" and praised House Republicans for passing a "great plan" that will end the "suffering" and "ravages" of Obamacare and credited the legislation for uniting the GOP.

You didn't actually think this was something other than another one of Trump's victory laps that ended his a faceplant, did you?

GOPers don't care if most Americans are uninsured. They got theirs and that's all that matters.

My guess is that it's along the usual Republican lines of "I've got mine, who cares about you?"

Trump's secret sooper dooper plan was to find the cheapest healthcare coverage in the nation and have that company offer that same price to everyone

The idiot actually thought healthcare premiums were based on the location of the the insurance company's headquarters and not on the location of the person being covered by the insurance.

I'm not kidding, he really thought insurance companies would offer the same price to a young healthy person living in Idaho as they would to an older person living in San Francisco and New York. He really thought he was a genius who was able to figure this out when no one else could.

That is when we heard the line .... "Who would have ever guessed healthcare could be so complicated"

Technically what he was proposing was a five year old child's version single payer healthcare without any clue of how to implement it, because he's a simpleton

I hate it when you're right.

I'm old enough to remember when Medicare was seen as the end to American civilization as we know it.

I know there are many ways to approach this, and other countries have found various other solutions, but at the very least basic health care should be seen as a right.

That basic health care needs to cover vaccinations, well person check ups, coverage of basic medications, including insulin and epi pens, basic woman's health care (including things like Pap smears), and no doubt other things that don't immediately come to mind.

I'm talking about the basics here. Not complex and complicated things. Organ transplants and in-vitro fertilization maybe won't be covered. There will need to be an ability to purchase additional coverage.

But so long as the basics are paid for, that's okay. At least as far as I'm concerned.

I often joke (although I'm not really joking) that I have the Republican Health Care Coverage. I don't get sick. As it happens, I really am very healthy, but I am extremely aware that not everyone shares that condition. Oh, and I don't care if you're morbidly obese and smoke three packs of cigarettes a day, although I will say, Shame on you! But you still deserve every bit as much basic health care coverage as I do. You might have to pay for bypass surgery out of pocket, but smoking cessation ought to be covered. Just one example.

Even though he's yammering on about the ACA, you've got to know that the Democratic House is not boig to do his bidding and pass "Trumpcare," do you?
